Mrs. Michele Hans

My name is Michele Hans and I have the privilege of being the Director of the OLPH Early Childhood Center.  Born and raised in Oakland, I graduated from OLPH myself!  I received my Bachelor’s Degree in both Early Childhood Education and Psychology from The College of New Jersey.  Upon graduation I was hired by Ramsey Public Schools where I taught Kindergarten and continued my own education until I started my family.   My husband Mike and I have been blessed to raise our own 8 children in Oakland.  In 2009 I became the Director of Religious Education in Mahwah, and then happily returned to my OLPH roots in 2014.  Together with our team of amazing and creative teachers, I am committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning!

Thank you for sharing your children with us!

Mrs. Lori Gene Scully
Office Manager

My name is Lori Scully and I was once the anxious, first-time mother bringing her oldest child to preschool. I would sit in the comfort of the school office daily because my daughter cried; the school staff always comforted me and became an extension of my own immediate family. As the days turned into years, I slowly began answering the phones and assisting in any possible way for this newfound preschool family. Eventually, I transitioned into the role of Office Manager for this beloved preschool, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Both of my children attended OLPH ECC and my husband even attended the elementary school when it was open. Our Lady of Perpetual Help has been a cornerstone of my family for three generations. I am grateful to be a part of this school for the past 30 years and I hope that I can provide you with the comfort and love that has been shown to my own family.

Hello, my name is Candy Apicella and I have been working in early childhood care since 2006. I've had the pleasure to work in the warm and nurturing environment at OLPH ECC beginning in 2013. I am dedicated to the social and emotional development of each child and it is my goal to set the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Mrs. Crista Vigeant
Teacher, 3’s Class

My name is Crista Vigeant and I am a PreK-3 teacher at OLPH ECC.  I graduated from Boston College (go Eagles!) and earned my master’s degree in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  This is my 3rd year working at OLPH ECC.  Prior to OLPH ECC, I taught English at Paramus Catholic High School, managed Quality Assurance testing teams at UBS/PaineWebber and MetLife and worked in public relations at Ruder Finn.  Most importantly, I am a mom to 3 amazing children (ages 10, 8, and 5), who are OLPH ECC alumni!  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending our kids’ sporting events and dance competitions, leading my daughters’ Girl Scout troops, and reading.  I live in Oakland, so if you see me around town, please say, “Hello!”
